Australia Green Methanol
Project Overview
Released Energy is progressing the development of a 240,000 tonnes per annum green methanol facility in Australia, designed to strengthen the country’s leadership in clean fuel innovation. Powered by RealCarbon’s advanced carbon utilisation technology, the project will convert renewable energy and captured carbon into zero-emission methanol for use as transport fuel.
This flagship project is currently in early-stage development, with Released Energy actively seeking support from state government partners to secure a strategic project site. Once operational, it will play a pivotal role in achieving Australia’s energy transition and economic decarbonisation goals.
Key benefits include:
- 240,000 tpa of green methanol – enabling fossil-free fuel alternatives across key sectors
- RealCarbon Tech solution – combining innovation with proven carbon efficiency
- Sustainable exports and local resilience – boosting clean fuel supply chains
- Regional growth – through jobs, infrastructure, and industry diversification
- National climate leadership – advancing sovereign capabilities in green fuel
As the project advances, Released Energy will engage collaboratively with local stakeholders and communities. Once a project location has been confirmed, we will invite local communities to participate in a dedicated community survey and consultation process.
Your input will be a vital part of shaping the project’s benefits, design, and legacy in the region
